About us

Center for Studies in Local Government and Development is an inter and multidisciplinary unit formed in 1991 by the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Law and Administration and the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science. The Center offers interdisciplinary studies in the field of local government and regional policy. Our staff consists of reputed researchers from various disciplines within the social sciences.

Center for Studies in Local Government and Development conducts research in the field of local government in cooperation with foreign research centers and universities and organizes conferences on issues related to the functioning of local government and regional development.

The mission of the Center for Studies in Local Government and Development is to educate students to the highest academic level. The aim of the Centre is to train personnel for the needs of national public administration and local government. Graduates of CSSTiRL are employed by regional and national institutions, pursuing their careers in the wider public sector, including local government, private entities and NGOs.

The first interdisciplinary studies in law, administration, political science, economics and management, which teach how to combine theoretical knowledge with practice, how to construct strategies and development plans, choose the appropriate instruments for their implementation, as well as how to successfully raise funds for local and regional development from domestic and foreign sources.
